Grandma, aunts, friends, nanny to name the most common ones. But I find this philosophy ridiculous. Either I have time to build a house or not, then I have to look at what’s available on the market. You can’t build a house on the side unless you’re Rockefeller. And hoping someone will pay for it and then it will work out is like playing the lottery. You’re only rarely lucky.
There’s also a complete lack of structure here. Even in this thread it’s one big mess. You need a clear outline:
- what damages are there? List!
- who caused what? Documentation!
- who is willing to make corrections? Can it be renegotiated?
- what do solutions look like and who can do them?
- what else needs to be done before moving in?
- how much money is still available and how is it divided?
- new schedule with deadlines for the craftsmen and someone to supervise
- payment only after acceptance by an expert
Endless whining, hoping and waiting for the culprit to admit their mistake is nonsense. Document, get a written confirmation from an expert and then think ahead.
Such nonsense, lately I really have nothing to say about your posts anymore. Is there bad atmosphere at home that you have to vent here or what’s wrong?
3 kids, husband fully employed and stress at work. But your statements about consequences, like how things look at the OP’s home. Some people really don’t have the time to take care of their build, let alone the expertise. And don’t come at me now with the nonsense about reading up on it.
Of course you can build a house on the side and you don’t have to be Rockefeller for that. If you have a good general contractor, you don’t have to worry about anything. Period. Experienced that multiple times in the circle of friends.
What kind of structure do you want? Do you expect the OP to provide you here with a list of all defects? Sorry, but such a demand is totally out of line.
