Hello,

Interesting description - especially when you consider that, according to building regulations, there are only I-, II- or multi-storey buildings

Rhenish greetings

Great idea!!!

I had only suggested that twice before, but I guess it didn't catch on, or:

Sometimes I wonder whether all the answers are really read or simply ignored.

And yes, then I get a bit grumpy.

Well, that's out of the question for us. We definitely don't want to convert the roof; after all, we're building with a basement. The house will definitely have the eaves facing forward because, due to the plot layout (approx. 20x30m), I want to build as wide and as shallow as possible so there’s more garden left.

I absolutely do not want large window areas in the gables, especially no floor-to-ceiling ones. You would just be looking at the 2.5-story neighboring building (on both sides). That’s why I definitely want big windows at the front and back. Our plot is non-buildable at the back. The street side is also okay; it is very wide, and the opposite building still has a large front yard and is only 1.5 stories. You don’t get the feeling of looking straight into the neighbor’s room.

Jaydee, sorry that I haven’t responded to your posts! I wasn’t quite sure how to say in a charming way that I don’t like a visible roof truss ops:.

I think it will probably end up being a "city villa" style after all; my husband is quite enthusiastic about that, too.

"Stadtvilla" is not a new invention either; I grew up in such a house from the 1920s. I always found the rooms with sloping ceilings at friends' houses very cramped as a child. (Probably a matter of getting used to) We are building rectangular, with two full floors and a gable roof at 30 degrees on top. It would also fit your neighboring buildings and not look so small in between. If you want it to look a bit "cozier" from the outside, you can compensate for that with a larger roof overhang.
