Why don’t you continue posting further drafts here?
Anyone who still takes a look before you say "yes" might find something you or the architect (also just a human with flaws) overlook.

In my opinion, a certain symmetry in the exterior dimensions and in the arrangement of the windows is necessary for a city villa: but that is a matter of taste.
In your last draft, the bathroom is again next to the bedroom, which I personally also find disturbing: you usually wake up when the other person showers, flushes the toilet, opens a noisy can lid, etc.

Please feel free to keep us updated!

EG:
1.) I don't like the layout of the fitted kitchen: I don't find it practical in everyday life.
One idea here: omit the patio door in the kitchen, maybe just a window, and then have a U-shaped kitchen (from the utility room door up to where the counter is now, i.e. integrate the counter into the kitchen. Keep the cabinets facing the WC.
This is one of many ideas on how to design the fitted kitchen better.

2.) Do the appliance and utility room doors open outwards?

3.) Can't the house be oriented better towards the southwest?

OG:
4.) I find the solution with the children's bathroom more practical for everyday life, especially when they are teenagers.
In the version without the children's bathroom, I find the bathroom too large. I would then use partition walls to make it feel cozier.

5.) The chimney is missing at the top in the upstairs solution "with children's bathroom."

6.) No access to the master bathroom from the hallway could be annoying in the morning, but that's a matter of taste.

7.) No storage room upstairs?

In all cases so far, I would lack work and storage space, in the sense of: Where is laundry dried, ironed, washed, where does winter clothing go in summer, where do discarded toys or baby items, skateboard and surfboard, Christmas decorations, etc. go?

Drying in the tumble dryer, ironing in the utility room (or as long as there are no children yet in the nursery or dressing room), washing in the utility room, a door will be installed under the stairs for small items. The utility room will be considerably larger than shown on the plan, basically the area of the utility room and appliances combined. Appliances will be placed further to the back again, plus a garden shed and a shelter for drying firewood.
Under the hip roof, you can still store plenty of things that you use at most once a year.
In the upper floor, the architect should still add a storage room for vacuum cleaners and cleaning supplies...

Construction stuff:
We really like the kitchen as it is. We currently have a U-shape and dislike it because it’s hard to work together (doors/drawers block each other, you often have to use the same corner, and when unloading the dishwasher you can’t just leave everything open).
The island with the door to the terrace is perfect for us. Between the island and the wall, there should be a small counter where two people can drink a cappuccino in the morning. The stools will then tuck under the counter when not in use.

The doors should also open outward.

The terrace should completely wrap around the kitchen, living, and dining area, so you can always sit in the sun. The angled orientation is due to the infill and we have to align with the street and the line of the existing buildings. But since in the S/W direction, apart from trees, there is only flat land for 1 km each way, that’s fine.

Once again about the kitchen. The cabinets facing the WC are all tall cabinets with an oven, steam cooker, etc. The cabinets along the exterior wall are therefore entirely countertop including the sink. The countertop extends into the window recess. Only in one corner the coffee machine still needs to be placed. The island is meant to house the induction cooktop. So the layout should not get in the way, and the path with food to the terrace is short.

Hello,

I don’t quite find the whole draft really right, sorry:

Ground floor:
- The TV is in front of the window? The sofa is also half underneath it. I don’t find that nice.
- The utility room will have no space for furniture. There is a door in every wall. And then the heating and the hot water tank will go there, the utilities (electricity, gas, water, etc.). Our electrical box is about 1.40 m long – just for comparison. Also, you really can’t put anything in front of the water pipes. And you can’t put anything in the door area either. A big room with no possibilities.
- I find the kitchen okay. Maybe you could make a regular island out of the peninsula and move it more towards the tall cabinets. Then the path is not so far when you have to set down a hot baking tray.

Upper floor:
- I really don’t like the slanted walls. They don’t create any new space for furniture but are just... there. You can’t put anything against them in the bedroom or the children’s bathroom. You will also have problems sitting on the toilet in the children’s bathroom. You have to add the installation wall by both the toilet and the sink.
- Two sinks in front of a window also won’t work. Where would the mirror go then?
- The table in the dressing room also won’t work like that, unless the cabinets in the corner are just decorative and have no function.
- I find the children’s bedrooms good in size.

Without the children’s bathroom, I would make the hallway bigger and take a bit from the bathroom. That will be a huge ballroom! Also here, sinks in front of the windows won’t work again.

Do it without corners. Then it immediately feels much more spacious!
