That's the contradiction. Diminished or near the wall, it's all nice and we do use it for that. BUT by main lighting I mean... when I want it really bright and spots are totally impractical and don't create nice light. Even if the whole ceiling is plastered with them (which also looks lousy).

Alternatively: constaled panel 24 volt round. only 11mm high (just enough for a suspended ceiling) and totally unobtrusive... I'm looking forward to it

Otherwise, our kitchen lighting above the countertop consists of a 6m LED strip (very bright) behind opal glass where you can't see individual LEDs even at 100%. Set a bit back... above the kitchen island, double spots (4x2) with relatively narrow angles (60°) on each side. Since there is no extractor hood from above, nothing else works there...

Yes, the light is bright and also "nice" at full power. (So bright that you mostly only need it for cleaning, hence the dimmer). In my view, this only works with spots if you have many and only with good light sources. Color rendering index 90, which gets expensive with 80 fixtures, but nice ceiling lights aren't exactly cheap either.

and I just wanted a recommendation for recessed frames and then I have to read 4 pages

But I realize here they want to know more about the actual planning.

So the plan is basically as follows. In the hallway, these will be recessed centrally into the ceiling. Distance 70 - 80cm for individual spots. The LED spots are from activled and have a beam angle of 120 degrees.

In the guest bathroom, 2 spots will also be integrated centrally into the ceiling and additionally a wall light above the mirror. Without the wall lighting, you would look into the mirror in the guest WC and there would be no lighting because the ceiling would rather illuminate the back of the head.

In the kitchen, 3 will be integrated centrally into the ceiling. For the countertop lighting, separate countertop lights will be installed under the hanging cabinets. Above the cooking island, there is a range hood which also has separate lighting. Only on the left by the sink are no hanging cabinets, there might be brightness issues hmm

Attached is my ground floor

My first impression is that you have generally planned too few. With the range hood, you will not illuminate the entire kitchen island, so I would add at least one on each side, left and right of the range hood OR three in a row behind the range hood towards the living room, above the countertop, with a steep beam angle. It does almost no good to illuminate only the middle of the kitchen. Are there wall cabinets above the sink? In the hallway, the distance to the doors is too large, and in front of the front door, I would distribute two across the width.

No, there are no wall cabinets above the sink, I also see a problem there.

So one on the left and one on the right next to the extractor hood would be worth considering. Hallway too little? We looked at many show homes. The hallway was always equipped with only one spotlight, and the distance was rather 1-1.2m.

At the sink, you then stand in the dark.
