Unless it has been glued in, it is a matter of 10 minutes per glass with 2 people and the right tools...

I do not want to dampen the euphoria and am the last person to be against improved protection.
However, it is unfortunately not quite so trivial with either RC2 or RC3.

Even if the quality, shape, and number of fittings should be increased, the design is also decisive. For example, windows with a mullion have certain disadvantages in terms of security.

Above all, the metal profiles in the window frame are important.
DIY store windows have none at all.
Window manufacturers do install some, but these are more designed for dimensional stability and are no thicker than a sheet of metal.
That means under force, even the best fittings may find no hold in the frame.

It is similar with the glass; if the sash profile is not reinforced, it is unfortunately a false sense of security.

There are some certified window manufacturers in DE who can offer RC2, but not quite as many who are certified for RC3, and even fewer who offer RC3 in plastic.
The requirements are simple: burglary tools and the time are specified.
For RC2, 3 minutes, and for RC3, 5 minutes, and these can be very long.
Therefore, some manufacturers already glue the glass in at RC2 to pass the test.

Simply google "K-Einbruch" and, for new construction, look at the police manufacturers directory. There, the German window manufacturers, as well as the certified design and materials used, are listed.

On the topic of 7-point locking: This is offered by some manufacturers, for example in combination with electric locks. These have so-called panic locks, i.e. even when the cabin is locked, if you press the inner handle from the inside, the door opens. Many modern front doors have at least one side panel. If laminated safety glass (VSG) is not used there at least, ...

On the subject of lockable handles: Normally, when ordering windows with lockable handles for an entire house, you receive handles with the same cylinder code. That means all keys fit each other. Even if one should get lost ...

For retrofitting, in addition to these rods, there are also lockable handles with an alarm function. If the window is smashed, a siren should immediately go off "in the work area." However, I have no experience with it.

How do you actually handle the lockable handles? Do you always lock them, remove the key, and then store it (where?) until the window or door is to be opened again?
