If you have a more or less intelligent electrical system in the house and almost everything "talks" to each other, then you can do quite a lot with it...

As long as the patio door is open, the roller shutter stays up even if the others go down because of sun, dusk, or time...

Do you always leave your patio door open when you are on the terrace? Or do you have additional sensors to detect garden use?

Our electrical system is unfortunately not intelligent. I had also wished for the terrace door feature, but it could not be implemented.

The resources are unfortunately limited and KNX was the first to fall victim to the budget cuts. Secondly and lastly, the great digital room thermostats - there is only one like that in the living room. However, every window will get an astro roller shutter switch, at least.

No, leaving the door open would be pointless... of course, there are additional sensors.

It may be that the thermostats are necessary for you, but you can swap them out anytime and install the great ones instead of the simple ones.

Thanks to the bus system, I only need one weather station and can then supply all the roller shutters with the necessary information, including the astro function.

And how did you implement the terrace usage sensor? I somehow lack the imagination for that right now. Motion detector? Presence detector outside? Different Wi-Fi outside?

IP cams report movement in the garden/terrace and the light is also involved, meaning the light on the terrace turns on -> blinds locked. Furthermore, presence inside, occupancy of the residents, season, and so on.

So a mix or interplay of various sensors to prevent residents/guests from being locked out.
