is definitely right about the stairs, see also the attachment.

And yes, the rooms need some fine-tuning again. And, as said, the upper floor is always included.

When I was a child, there were no floor-to-ceiling windows or anything similar where I could have peeked through. I survived :D But the objection is of course valid. Maybe you can still play with knee wall windows if you like the look of a segmented roof.

I have extended the length of the house to 14m and thereby somewhat enlarged the utility room.

Behind the bedroom, it should not directly be a dressing area; it is rather intended as a walk-in closet.

I set the staircase width to 80cm. I find it sufficient for "only" children's rooms upstairs. I now use the same width in the townhouse and manage well with it. I have even managed to get very bulky items like a couch upstairs.

I could simply imagine the attic as shown in the attachment. The green rectangle is supposed to represent the 2m ceiling height limit approximately. Unfortunately, I cannot estimate to what extent the stairwell needs to be enlarged.

Yes, it could basically work, although the kitchen space, the entrance to it, and the wardrobe area are still very critical.

But the windows definitely need to be reconsidered. Between floor-to-ceiling and a minimum of 125 cm at the bottom edge, there are still a few options ;). I don't particularly like floor-to-ceiling windows in rooms like children's or bedrooms either. Just google "children's growth development" ... only from around 9 years old are children's eyes above this 125 cm.

, you will move into the house at the earliest in 2017 or 2018 - so slowly get used to a modern house construction of the 3rd millennium. It has actually existed for 16 years now. You also expect an older craftsman to adhere to today's building regulations and not to those of his master. A lot has changed in recent years :) I grew up without a seatbelt in the car and a mobile phone, yet I do not want to do without either anymore.

Where would the kitchen door be better placed? I could imagine it a bit further to the right, so that a niche of about 65-70 cm would be created in the kitchen. Then there would be space for a wardrobe to the left of the door, possibly also under the stairs.

After the size development, I actually googled it already after your first post earlier.. ;)
What would be an alternative window solution?

for progress the controlled residential ventilation is enough for me ;) The plan to move in should actually work out this year o_O
