That's a pity, I think that takes away from the openness of the floor plan. I don't think the door will ever be closed but the table has to be positioned and the distances measured in such a way that it can be closed and there is still space. At the same time, this solution prevents a more exciting kitchen design.
At the time we also had it closable, it was hardly ever used and at some point I knocked out the expensive sliding doors, etc. and built a solution with a counter.

We currently have the kitchen area open in the apartment, with a counter.
I really like the counter, but not the open kitchen. Everything that makes noise is annoying in the living room. If you want to listen to music or watch something on TV, the loud background noises are really annoying.
Therefore, we also want to plan a sliding door. A good implementation is difficult and it really takes away the "nice big feeling of the space."

Maybe you should consider full rubber dishes to reduce the noise or give a course on silent cooking at Christmas as a gift; that would be popular— Of course, the openness causes this situation because it is open. But it wouldn’t be worth that much to me, because not as often after the course, that I would want to sacrifice the appearance and the room feeling. I use noise cancelling headphones anyway....-

I can’t stand watching you work hard – please close the door!

I agree with you regarding the sense of space. I will talk to the boss again.

We have decided on a ceiling height of 3m for the bungalow, minus the underfloor heating we come to about 2.80m. What we are still considering is the design of the entrance area. We are thinking about doing it this way. For that, the right side probably has to be pushed upwards. This will make the covered terrace larger.

Maybe you can argue like this and actually think that in the worst case you’d rather build a room divider later if that really became necessary (which in my opinion will never be the case). Otherwise, I can speak from my own experience that black eyes disappear after a few weeks and broken teeth can nowadays be replaced by fancy implants - A bungalow means something free to me, which would disappear because of that; plus the options for kitchen design. 2.80m is a really pleasant room height! The entrance area looks good, I would generally pay attention to a rather light-looking appearance
