Both are possible, I would not go upwards, [Bungalow] is desired, with all its advantages

feel free to take a look at Landhaus-Brodowin... it is a very good combination of an age-proof bungalow plus adjoining rooms in the gable roof. I find it at least a very good inspiration and playground for further considerations ;)

I already thank you for the kind answers. There isn’t much enthusiasm for the office, which is okay. However, the office in my old apartment was also about that size and I felt quite comfortable in it. I only want to equip the wardrobe with a clothes rail. But you could certainly open the door to the hallway. I am such a fanatic about tidiness and therefore prefer to keep my son’s mess and dirty shoes behind a door. There’s also room for the sports bag there.

I would like the terrace to be by the kitchen and in front of the utility room. I might add a pergola there. I don’t like it when the nice big windows are blocked from the outside with furniture. I’d rather look out onto the field and enjoy the view.

By the way, I have only planned a “normal” window in the living room. I think it’s silly to block floor-to-ceiling windows. Besides, the living room is a cozy zone and therefore should be comfortable and doesn’t need to be a glass palace. Who realistically looks into the garden in the evening while watching TV?

Probably very few. But who only sits on the sofa in the evening? Lounging on the sofa in the afternoon for coffee or also on the weekend (or during the week, if you no longer have to work), reading a book, surfing, playing, while occasionally glancing at the birds by the pond...
