Bungalow 108 - Minimum price feasible?

The attic is somewhat ventilated. At least in our case, after one winter and one summer, it has been shown that clothes and similar items can be stored well there. I also have changing mats, sleeping bags, and others there; so far no problem.

We have been living in the house for a few years and have also kept the children's clothes upstairs for 4-5 years. We don't struggle with moisture, but the clothes do suffer. Elastic bands in the clothes become brittle due to the large temperature fluctuations, and despite the darkness, the colors also change ... white tends to turn beige.

I would rather not store clothes in an uninsulated and unheated attic. The risk of moisture is quite high there -> mold spots and mildew.

Lockable plastic bins or storage bags, from which air can be evacuated using a vacuum cleaner, help against this.

Yes, vacuum bags can work. I have had bad experiences with standard plastic boxes, however. Maybe there are vacuum boxes too, but they will be expensive?

We had reduced the space available. I had to count all the shelf meters and then accommodate the same number in the [Bungalöwle]. That worked out pretty well.

Nope. We stored the clothes of our first daughter in an unheated, uninsulated attic of relatives for over 4 years... and they are still great for the second daughter; no mold, no mildew, no nothing...

Radiators mean high flow temperatures, which makes things harder for the heat pump. And as Yvonne said, anyone who still plans with gas today hasn't heard the shot and is bringing upon themselves a Pyrrhic victory of the highest order. The heat pump will inevitably come anyway when the gas heater breaks down in 10 years, so you might as well do it properly with underfloor heating from the start.

The Pyrrhic victory is more likely to be had by those currently installing heat pumps in the HAR, photovoltaic systems on the roof, and geothermal drilling in the garden at moon prices... that easily adds up to an extra 40,000 or 50,000 EUR over a gas heating system, financed at 2-3%... when do you want to save that, even with a gas price of 25 cents/kWh and a consumption of 10,000 kWh...

Where exactly is the excessive effort with the gas heating that turns a victory into a defeat? That would be a Pyrrhic victory.

And a gas heating system broken after 10 years? Are you basing that on your heat pump? Gas heaters can last 20, 30 years.
