Gas heating without solar thermal?

Hello,
The thread is from early March, but I would be interested to know how you want to achieve KFW 55 with a gas heating system? Now my question: did you actually achieve KFW 55 like that?

Best regards

No, I myself have not achieved that, but I believe I have read that it is possible. If not, the example was poorly chosen.

However, I stick to my opinion that the gas option without solar thermal energy (with alternative measures to achieve the corresponding standards) is much too little discussed, because the investment costs for solar thermal energy are quite high.

Therefore, in my opinion, it could be cheaper in individual cases to either completely save the money for solar thermal energy and cover the higher heating costs from the savings, or to invest the saved money in better insulation, which may reduce heating costs more than solar thermal energy.

I share this opinion and implement it accordingly (even if I have not calculated it down to the last cent). I will install a pure gas heating system without [ST] or similar. However, I also do not use any [KFW] funding, so reaching the [KFW] thresholds is initially irrelevant to me, as they do not yet say anything about the heating cost expenditure at the end of the year.

Certainly one of many good possibilities. I find the religious wars on such topics always somewhat exaggerated. We now have KfW-70 with geothermal energy and controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery.

Hello construction expert, does your comment generally refer to the use of solar thermal energy to support heat generation, or is it specifically related to the example? Of course, the use of solar thermal heating and hot water generation depends on many factors in the individual case, but the fact that they can contribute more or less significantly to coverage should not be fundamentally ruled out. Best regards, Erik

Hello Erik,

From my #16? Yes, I mean generally.

Rather less, and then mostly in the form of a paper calculation. A bit of solar for domestic hot water heating, in my opinion, enabled the conventional heating installer to participate in the "game" of renewable energies. Or helped simple sales representatives to market their package offers; after all, every child knows the "good" gas.

In this respect, I have always recommended the 15% rule to my customers who wanted to stay with gas as a heat generator in the past – from April 16 it looks different, and I am curious what solutions the conventional gas industry will offer –

Rhenish greetings
