We have separated HAR and the utility room. HAR is in the basement, the utility room is on the level where laundry occurs. I do see the point of having it on one level. But it doesn’t have to be in the bathroom for that reason.

I feel the same way. In everyday life, any movement is optimized away and in the evening Mom/Dad then stand for half an hour on the stepper in the expensive gym and stare blankly out of the window.

Of course, if you can afford a separate utility room on the upper floor, why not. But then in summer it will probably be the dryer anyway... Whether that is the ultimate wisdom in view of the glowing debate on CO2 reduction is doubtful.

(Anyone arguing here that the electricity would then come from their own photovoltaic system unfortunately hasn't understood the core issue either)...

But in the bathroom? The bathroom is already the bottleneck in any 4-person household, especially with 2 daughters. And then Mom is supposed to do laundry there 3 times a day, empty it, hang it up, fold it?

Better in the utility room, where you don't disturb anyone...

As an allergy sufferer, I’m actually not a fan of hanging laundry outside. That only really works for us in the fall at best. However, I don’t put anything in the dryer except for some of the children’s clothes and towels. We hang the laundry old-fashioned inside on a drying rack. In the new house, there should be a somewhat flashier solution for that. In a house with [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] and exhaust in the respective room, that’s not a problem at all. The laundry is dry within half a day there.

The location of the sink is very inconvenient. On the one hand, users stand directly at the entrance door, making it difficult for others to pass by. On the other hand, there is very little storage space for everything you need at the sink, such as electric toothbrushes, razors, hairbrushes, etc.
