The wall at the head end is 3.13m. If you slide the 2m bed so that there is a 70cm passage at the bottom of the plan, you have 40cm at the top for a bedside table. Completely sufficient. And 70cm passage is more than enough. Or you take a bed that is 1.80m wide, also very comfortable for 2 people. Normally, the same resident gets up earlier. That person then simply sleeps at the top of the plan and doesn't disturb the other.

Yes, true, with smaller furniture it fits. Okay, then you convinced me. I'm just looking at how small 40 cm is, but not everyone has that much clutter next to the bed.

Please also consider the bed frame. It quickly adds 10cm on each side.

Building so specially has the risk of selling the house poorly. For example, I would not omit the bathtub if there is space available.

I must have somehow overlooked that. If he really wants it explicitly that way and his wife isn’t running away from him, sure. Everyone can live as they want, I’m just surprised.
I would simply need much more space around the washing machine location than the OP is planning here, but presumably you can’t just project your own situation onto others. Are the children already there or just planned? My laundry habits have changed a lot since the oldest was in kindergarten. You have to pre-sort much more and generally there’s more laundry with kids.

But I don’t build the house primarily based on how easily it can be sold. I wouldn’t install a bathtub if I know I won’t use it. A bathtub can usually be added later by a new owner anyway.
