No, but on the ground floor, if the dining area were in the south...

Once in red, once in black

Pantry opposite the living room door, then a small entrance hall results, which hopefully distracts the residents from always going through the narrow kitchen if the access to the dining area is shifted to the back. So storage removed and in red another access to the living room near the dining area. Or in black access to the dining area from the kitchen, which has the advantage that light still falls into the kitchen through this door and no one is disturbed in the living room.

Do you have a cellar for laundry?

I'll draw that out again myself, although I think the distance seems longer than it actually is... I found it so nicely structured and can also imagine putting chairs on the living room side against the half-open kitchen... to quickly have breakfast or something (of course not six in a row xD) We have a partial basement, so space for supplies and laundry that can go directly into the garden thanks to the basement outside stairs :)

Me too. And - to be honest - this is my favorite... straightforward and structured.
However, I would see it optimized if the dining room is on the west side.
1. Living room can be used as a quiet room since it is not a thoroughfare. It can be closed off sometimes
2. preferably a dining room as a passage area rather than the living room
3. location of the kitchen -> kitchen counter -> -> light in the kitchen,
4. location facing the hallway -> direct access to family life
5. light in the afternoon/evening -> children doing homework, early dinner
6. teenagers with guests don’t have to pass through a sacred privacy (living room) but can hold their meetings centrally by the kitchen. Living room stays private!
7. bedroom upstairs is above the living room on the ground floor: quiet for the parents when the kids are noisy on the floor upstairs
8. direct way from kitchen to dining area - possibly an exit to a terrace there? Is that possible?

Give some thought again to the overall situation!

Regarding the attic: my suggestion with the built-in closets facing east is optimized.
It is what it is: many people and little space. But that can also be cozy and enable a nice life.
Don’t be intimidated by people who have the opportunity (or are also trapped) to get everything new and say that 15 sqm is the minimum for a children’s room. You have to make the best out of a situation, even if it’s only a real 10 sqm... ? has also apparently noted that the area under 2 meters counts. You have a huge communication area on the ground floor, that also counts!

It will be fine :)

I think we come to about 150 sqm in total, and we wouldn’t have built much bigger either. The problem here is rather the long narrow house...

At the back in the extension, so the currently planned dining room, there is currently access to the garden. A small exit with a few steps into the garden. There we will probably create a terrace area.

We might possibly open the wall from the living room to the dining room as much as possible.

What is also true, however, is that if friends really come to visit, the kitchen is easily accessible as well as the dining area... the living room would really be more secluded. But we have thought that if the extension really has a lot of glass surface, then when eating together you would have more of a view of the garden than if you were only there for watching TV. But as you notice, we are not quite sure what would be best yet.

Regarding the upper floor: exactly, a bit more is added and I think it makes 1-1.5 sqm.
