For so many rooms, the house is almost too narrow!

Renovation=risk and yet old.

Would consider new construction here, especially since fire protection certainly cannot be optimally solved (formally this is not a problem but actually).

Che Guevara new building is not an option for us due to the plot situation. We do not want a small plot in the new building area but a proper one in an established environment. Demolition and then new construction does not work here or the purchase price for such a project would have been too high. Ivonne, I will look at the option again, only the doors downstairs are almost already there.

In brief:

I would keep the guest WC for 6 people.

Kitchen to dining area: open the wall, possibly just a kind of pass-through, meaning leave the wall at working height, chimney flue anyway. The dining area needs more light. Where can the cardinal direction be seen?

Yvonne, I could just kiss you, that would really be a good option ^^
Although the eating area will be relocated to the extension and the couch and TV will go where the eating area currently is.
The extension at the back (dining and reading area) will be fully glazed towards the garden.
You would then have to carry everything around the corner, but in a pinch it can be quickly rearranged again ;)

The guest WC would be perfect as a storage space for jackets and shoes that are used daily and especially for the stroller – that would be completely out of the way there. There would be a toilet downstairs in the bathroom and one upstairs.

We also thought about putting the kitchen where the bathroom is planned. So as an open concept there... and leaving the bathroom where it is.
How would that be?

(I initially said no because I would find the storage room so practical)

Regarding the cardinal directions:

When looking at the house from the street, the entrance is to the north
To the left of the house is east
At the back in the garden is south
And west is on the right side
