If you meant to say that my proposal would result in this, I unfortunately have to attest to your maximum naivety in purchasing this property, since my proposal reduces the earthworks to what is necessary. Sure, if you waive the garage, push the house as far west as possible and plan only half a basement, even less earth will have to be moved. But then we drift so far away from what has been shown so far that the thread would have been better started from scratch with a fully completed questionnaire and not with the question about the driveway planning.

But you have also left your floor plan thread open and ignored all the advice of the elephant:

Hello,

the architect was commissioned and paid by us and had no connection to the basement builder or house builder.
That I have to or would have to do earthworks is clear, but to call me naive just because I don't want to is another matter.
The fact that a small granny flat came out of the architect we commissioned was a coincidence and not directly desired.
And no, the plot has not been bought yet; I would only do that once I know exactly how a house construction can be realized on it and also be affordable. If I had bought it earlier, I would have been not only naive but also blind to the facts due to the condition of the plot.

The architect made the attached proposals and she also insists on her plan which places the garage under the house.
Unfortunately, I don’t know whether mine is more sensible or even feasible.

We are also looking for an alternative plot; unfortunately, at present, there are only the free plots which are in the building plan.

Regards
Anson

How high is your budget?
One more floor will not be cheaper

The original budget was 600K euros excluding the land. Currently, it is 700K euros excluding the land, including a cautious estimate of 40K for the additional basement. There is also no buffer possible anymore, the maximum credit line is exhausted. Every cubic meter of soil moved costs 20 euros excluding disposal costs, so it is hopefully understandable that I am reluctant to have to redesign the entire property. Regards Anson

Plan smaller. That is too tight. Build smaller. The basement floor offers good living space. Be sure to include the outdoor area in the planning. You don’t want to have the main garden in the north. Let the offsetting and filling be balanced out. It may be that a bit more outdoor area is cheaper or equally expensive.

Now you check the alternative of a complete underground double garage floor - but I heard no response to my suggestion to simply raise the double garage in the existing design by one and a half meters (?)

That sounds very much like a Pyrrhic victory just to avoid looking further. And no, 40K EUR for a buried double garage is not a cautious estimate when thirty are not uncommon for an above-ground one.
