We dismantled a tall cabinet for the dishwasher......
measured down 1m from the top for the desired door, cut off the carcass.
Inserted the inner bottom at the very bottom and additionally screwed it from the outside.
Put a spacer at the lower edge. Hung it on the rail.

From the rest of the tall cabinet, subtracted the height of the dishwasher and cut accordingly.
Inserted a heavy-duty shelf inside at the top of the lower part and screwed it again from the outside.

Painted the cut surfaces and put some kind of "armor tape" or similar on it.
At the top cutting edge, there is also the moisture barrier of the dishwasher on top.
At the bottom, we will still put an edge protector for a fitting strip on it.

On the left, everything is screwed to the next cabinet.
On the right, a cover panel hides everything. The carcass was also screwed with it.
Make sure the screws are not too long.

There is a 1m door on top.
The dishwasher has an 80cm front mounted on "sliding rails".
At the bottom, there is a tall drawer with a 40cm front.
This covers the 1.6cm by which the dishwasher is higher than the 80cm front.

Because of the Bodbyn front – which is slightly beveled – we didn’t have to cut, bevel, or fix anything. All the doors work perfectly.

We have the AVKYLD from Ikea (BAuknecht) with a height of 122 cm.

For that, a tall cabinet carcass... the door on top mounted at the desired height.
Downwards measured 122 cm — exactly below the height — so that 122 cm remains free — a heavy-duty shelf was installed.
It is not mounted in the predefined Ikea holes, but screwed directly at the corresponding height.
Always put the shelves with the ventilation metal parts at the back on top.

Below that is a deep drawer with a 40 cm front.
When I open this, I can see a bit of the fridge base.

You have to pay attention to the area where the actual fridge door is.
Our fridge door is not 122 cm high but maybe around 110 cm.
So the 120 cm front above is still bigger than the actual fridge door.

It is therefore important to see where the 3 cm are on your fridge — the part where it is taller than the door.
You have to fit it into the cabinet so that the 1 m door and the fridge door align exactly.
Depending on the type of construction, the shelf is then a bit higher at the top or the one below is a bit smaller.

Of course, it was a bit measured out... we had to adjust the door once — and it fit.
You have to do that with any door or drawer.
For having the fridge now nicely exact inside, it was not much effort.

I didn't want a tiny drawer with 20 cm below or only a 40 cm door at the top.
That would mean a 20 cm useless air gap... just because my fridge is 2 cm bigger than the standard 120 cm door.

It is also important that the fridge ventilation is still ensured.
We have a niche behind the fridge — so it has a bit more air than if it stood directly against the wall.

I’ll take photos tomorrow.
Now I’m going to bed. It was very stressful the last few days.

just from the hallway into the new kitchen

or just from the dining room

on the left the sink unit

on the right the cooktop niche

the backsplash is still missing here and we are considering doing it with wood and glass in front of it.......... :keine_ahnung:

currently loaded with the dishes from the dining room cabinet that have been washed.

seen from the pantry door.

the window side, lower than the rest of the kitchen.
currently still with the placeholder countertop. The real one is ordered.

another view towards the pantry door.

the wall cladding above the green area is not finished yet. Curtain is still missing........
indirect lighting as well. Trim strips under the wall cabinets and trim at the ceiling above.
so lots of little things left.
oh yes, of course still the drawers for the coffee and kitchen machines. The cabinet doesn’t have doors yet.
but we want to do that only when the countertop arrives, which will be around September 9th.

so still plenty to do. I have ordered some things at Ikea, like drawer inserts.
so the interior is also not yet arranged as desired. Everything depends on something else......

but basically the worst is over............
and I am slowly getting comfortable with my new kitchen........
