Which sensor triggers the heating? Contact sensor at the shower inlet? Which one?

The windows in the room can only be opened motorized. If a guest uses the toilet and feels the need to ventilate, they have to be able to trigger this somehow. Haven't found a sniff piece for the drain yet :P

I implemented it using a 1Wire sensor for humidity. Directly above the shower and therefore responds very quickly. I also had the idea of the contact sensor.. but it's hard to get to again if it ever breaks.

You can normally open the windows here. Guests do that sometimes too. But it’s not a problem. We ourselves keep the windows closed, of course, because we know the air gets fresh again quite quickly.

Controlled residential ventilation also turns off when showering (to keep the heat) and switches to max level after showering for fast air exchange. Everything turns off again automatically.

Do you have individual room control of the controlled residential ventilation or is the whole house regulated up and down?

Otherwise, my favorite at the moment is that I can send our vacuum robot to every room on the ground floor via voice command with Google Home. That is simply a dream, I don't even care about the FBI then.

If you can transport the beer from the fridge to the sofa, it really creates added value


ok thanks. I think I will do it with contact sensors, e.g. from MDT. Maybe two for redundancy. The sensor itself doesn't cost anything and the flush-mounted actuator can connect several anyway.

The window issue is still unresolved. I think I will install a 55mm 2/4 button somewhere near the washbasin next to a socket so guests can operate the window if needed.

How did you do that? Does that work with the iRobot? (We also have those in use)

The Roborock or Xiaomi Mi Robot can do coordinate control and zones, then via Openhab. It's a bit fiddly, but that way it even runs completely in-house.

What the hell is this kind of refrigerator that you have to turn off to watch TV? That would annoy me; I watch too much TV for that.
