Hanseatic seem to be the only ones managing to get such refrigerators into efficiency class D, everyone else E-G. With up to 450 kWh per year and currently 50 cents/kWh electricity, definitely not insignificant.

Especially since I am also surprised about the space. Around 500 liters sounds like a lot. But my normal Siemens refrigerator with 200x70 is hardly less. And it is rated at 160 kWh/a, not 250 or sometimes 450 like some from LG.

Then it is more efficient again to put a separate freezer in the HAR. Especially for stuff that you only need to access once or twice a year.

PS: It is a refrigerator, not a moon rocket. LowClass manufacturers should be able to manage that by now. Premium manufacturers now almost only score in the smart home sector. Then the refrigerator talks to the iPhone or you can look through a window to see if there is still vodka in it. The only problem: The window is hard to insulate and makes the refrigerator inefficient again.

Oh, I see. A direct water connection is then another component that can break down and cause serious damage. I wouldn't do it, neither for the refrigerator nor for the steam cooker.

I see it like ... if there are ice cube makers in the refrigerator, then with a fixed water connection. Otherwise, you could also buy a standalone ice cube maker, produce ice cubes from time to time, and keep them handy in the freezer compartment. What I find rather unimportant is getting the ice cubes through a dispenser; they can simply be in the freezer compartment, just like with the ice makers from Liebherr in the "normal" fridge/freezer units. And water dispensers ... hm, isn't the kitchen faucet enough for that?

Thanks, so with a water connection. I especially wanted to know what is better and easier to clean. A 2m inlet hose is not too long, right?

We drink a lot with ice cubes or crushed ice. We don't need the water dispenser, but it's always included.

do you have experience with Hanseatic? I think Hanseatic is Otto's own brand. Does anyone know which manufacturer is behind it?

Can you rely on the energy classes? Or do they somehow cheat there?

We are looking for a good refrigerator that should especially last a long time.

If you store the ice cubes in the freezer, you often have to open the freezer during the day in summer. I always think that is not so energy-efficient.

We are still searching and considering whether to get one with or without an ice maker. But we have not reached a decision yet.

We definitely want to have an ice cube dispenser. Yes, that definitely suggests that the dispenser should be on the outside so that the freezer does not have to be opened unnecessarily often. The ice cubes in the dispenser then also have the optimal temperature of 0 to -3 degrees. The ones in the freezer compartment are actually too cold. It should definitely be a French door, as they are simply much more practical than side by side. The only question is which one. The selection is somehow not very large. Most are side by side.
