So, I’m not quite sure here. Is RealKNX now better or worse in speech recognition than SyOhr?

That doesn’t matter. Both are worlds away from Google and Co.

Synohr is a device that came onto the market almost 8 years ago. And I think I can certainly appreciate the developer from back then – because Synohr is and remains a pioneer. I do not at all deny that Alexa & Co work vastly better. If you want offline voice control today, of course there are much better solutions. For realKNX, we decided to integrate "Snips". And when it comes to commands for building automation, with Snips we are certainly on a similarly high level as the big listeners. We also have the option to adapt to the application with the voice commands. There are no words Snips couldn't learn. Dear Stephen, why don't you name one of your rooms "Weisswurstzimmer" and then turn on the "Händelmeier Senf" lamp. My Alexa doesn't understand that.

My one lamp is called Lelit and the assigned room is called [Kaffeemaschine] (because it is a smart plug and not a lamp and I don't want to turn on the coffee machine when I say "Alexa, turn on kitchen").

I also have lamps called "Wolke klein" or "Hinter TV Board."

Everything is perfectly understood by Alexa and Google Assistant (I tested both).

As long as you pronounce Weißwurst in standard German, Alexa understands it too...

I just ordered a second Alexa... it’s going in the kitchen for listening to music. I also saved the most important appointments and the kids' schedule... done. I still control the lights and blinds manually. I can live with Jeff now knowing when my eldest has sports and that I like to listen to Roland Kaiser.

In return, I give up all the other unnecessary stuff like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp status that mostly just serves to show what amazing thing I’m doing right now or what I had for breakfast yesterday.
