I am also on Hi-Fi-Forum.de so I know what you mean.

My concern with heat pumps is that, in principle, it is an electric heater. I wonder why the government is promoting this so much at the moment? My sinister theory about this is that the government wants us all to rely on electricity so that it can eventually impose a proper electricity tax (elimination of the mineral oil tax through the gradual introduction of electric vehicles). Then it can milk the electricity cow twice over. Both mobile and stationary.

But that doesn’t have to be true, maybe everything will get better and those who have invested in gas will be the ones left behind.

Bold theory.
As a voluntary local politician, I can reassure you insofar as politicians plan ahead for a maximum of 2 legislative periods, and the scenario you described will easily take another 30 years to become socially acceptable.

Jokes aside, the subsidization of electricity tariffs (excluding KfW funding programs here) is limited anyway; as far as I know, the air heat pump tariffs in our region are about 10-15 cents cheaper, so in my opinion this will lead to a complete adjustment of the price structure in the next few years. Naturally, with increasing pricing.

It is promoted because this way no fossil fuels are consumed locally and the CO2 balance of a new building looks really nice...

Everything else is another matter...

Yes, that is how a politician would like to have phrased it. Let's leave it at that. The heat pump is also not completely off the table for me.

My brother has one too, swears by it. But as soon as you have something like that, the KFW rating immediately drops. Weberhaus! achieves KFW55 standard right off the bat with the air-to-air heat pump. As soon as I want to install the BWT, the KFW becomes irrelevant. To get it back, I would have to go for the thick wall and add the photovoltaic system on the roof to regain KFW.

Lighting a 1200°C flame to heat rooms to 22°C is simply no longer considered "modern" by some.
