What does an open living space mean to you? [...] The problem with a 3D program is for example: once you have clicked the button and see your drawing in 3D, you fall in love without weighing things neutrally. You hold on to the walls and don’t want to let go, they might collapse ;)
The three areas cooking, eating, and living should not be separated from each other by walls. On the other hand, it should definitely not be designed so openly that you can see from the living room all the way to the kitchen. So, there should be a visual screen placed in between, and the only thing I can think of for that is a built-in fireplace...
And yes, you’re right, changing the position of the walls in an existing floor plan is really something you don’t like to do :p
I mean that the roommate or guest sitting "top left" or "at the headboard top" is slowly but surely getting singed from the back or right side by the fired-up fireplace.
Ah ok :D you’re absolutely right there, it’s really way too close to the fireplace, thanks for the hint! ;)
And regarding the upper floor: I would mirror the door from the hallway to the bedroom and place the entrance to the dressing room in the diagonally freed space. The bathroom reminds me a bit of the game The Crazy Labyrinth.
That’s also a great idea, why don’t you come up with this yourself... o_O Thanks!
Again about the upper floor bathroom... the shower is not separated toward the bottom of the plan in the direction of the bathtub, or is there supposed to be a glass pane sitting on the bathtub edge?
The shower should be open toward the bathtub, so without glass partition.
I would also plan the staircase into the hallway.
Hm, yes, that would be worth considering...
Many thanks again to everyone, taking into account the great tips here the plan will now be fundamentally changed or rebuilt again from the beginning :)
That means the living room will be a bit smaller, the passages in the dining area larger, the hallway rather more square, and the bathroom will be "tidier". As soon as the new floor plan is finished I will get back here, of course with 3D views of the rooms ;)
Best regards
