Hello,

I own, among other things, a 1-room apartment, or rather 1.5 rooms, with a separate room for the kitchen. The kitchen is visibly outdated. Before I can rent out the apartment, it needs to be renovated.

Apparently, it looks like a custom-made, high-quality kitchen that was made to fit this room. In our region, unlike in university towns, you don't get 400-600 euros for such an apartment. For this reason, the renovation must be carried out as cost-effectively as possible, since an elaborate renovation is not financially worthwhile. The floor will also be replaced.

Do you perhaps have a few suggestions? The following options do I see at the moment: 1. Only replace electrical appliances + clean thoroughly 2. Replace electrical appliances + countertop 3. Completely remove the kitchen and install an inexpensive "ready-made kitchen" (200-250cm) <- here, of course, the corner could not be used efficiently. Also, I don't know if the kitchen can be removed without major damage to the tiles.

Maybe you have a few ideas on how to get the kitchen in shape cost-effectively.

Best regards

Ikea and [selbst ist der Mann] = new and inexpensive with reasonable quality. As a landlord, you can also write it off on your taxes (depreciation).

But you can't get such a custom-made corner with Ikea, can you? I would also consider having the fronts replaced by the carpenter, new countertop, new electrical appliances ... done.

No, such a custom-made corner can only be achieved by a kitchen manufacturer. But that would be excessive. With a new kitchen, you would have to take a normal kitchen, without a corner. That would then be the compromise for a new one. The concerns remain whether the tiles will withstand the removal of the kitchen. Ikea is nice and all, but it's not much cheaper in price than a kitchen locally at the [“Möbelhaus”].

You can try planning one online at Ikea .... I had a similar floor plan in my rental apartment and couldn’t manage to use the space effectively with the 60 cm cabinets ... So you’d also have to build this 30 cm shelf yourself next to the first cabinet ... if you can manage that and assemble it yourself, it will definitely be cheaper than buying from a furniture store. We paid around 5800 in 2016 with appliances, and except for the dishwasher, they were no-name appliances.

I consider that a rumor. But sure, if you go through the showroom at Roller and Poco, there are many 2.5m kitchens for 2000 euros, but the moment you change something, you pay. For Ikea, however, you need a bit of skill and brains.
