He advised against solutions like Ikea because of the assembly method. A proper kitchen is glued during assembly - Ikea is screwed together. The screws loosen over time due to vibrations (dishwasher, kitchen machine, etc.) and become slack - therefore, the kitchens are probably somewhat less stable, which becomes noticeable in the long term.
No one stops you from additionally applying glue to the (joint) edges. Then you have the desired stability.
