Here again the thread with the ancillary construction costs

Stadt und Land does not offer more than other general contractors, in terms of equipment rather less than others, smaller extras like a walk-in shower are not included.

Good morning,

You should take a look at the ancillary building costs link shared again by Yvonne. When reading the posts there, you will realize that it varies depending on the federal state, being higher or lower. It also always depends on what the individual wants to understand by ancillary building costs.

Normal.

So you bore the foundation costs regardless of the soil conditions?

I do not need to see your house; I know the basis on which it was built. I will certainly not discredit any provider; therefore, I asked in the subjunctive in the related post. Furthermore, I have always pointed out that providers like yours, from my point of view, have their right to exist in the market. It was only important to me to adjust your post #85 somewhat to reality, because what you describe is also experienced by most other builders who do not build with your provider and often also when they realize their building project via an architect.

Rhenish regards

You write that you have just under 3000 € left with part-time work, ma'am.
For credit and additional costs (according to house cost calculation Town & Country without special requests), you have to reckon with around 1500 € (according to several posters, which is understandable).
That leaves you 1500 € per month for living expenses.
You have to calculate yourself: insurance including retirement, living costs, drugstore + clothing, pocket money, later daycare, etc... defective electrical devices sometimes need to be replaced, an outing, the sports club...

The problem is that with building a house, things can go well (within the calculated costs), but often (so not rare) thousands of additional costs can arise. A delay in moving in by several months leads to double burden due to preparatory interest (monthly in the three-digit range).
Early termination means moving into a holiday apartment with an average of a thousand per month.
Higher wear and tear on the car during gardening and paving work - if you cannot pay 100 € for stone delivery, you have to drive back and forth yourself. One thing leads to another. If the buffer is then used up by a kitchen, curtains, blinds, lamps, and lawnmower, nothing comes in from the low income afterward. You have to calculate that! There is nothing left to buy a few plants each month.
The worst (and also not the rarest) scenario is that the partnership suffers due to money worries. Together with a screaming toddler - it is not uncommon for the individual spouses to wish time could be turned back. The house is ultimately cursed, and accusations are made at the partner.

A used or starter property is easier to calculate. You pay what is calculated, new paint for the walls can be included in the budget, and the terrace can be done in three years. In addition, this existing property often boasts some special features that you are still dreaming of in your new build.

That's exactly why we bought a used property.
