Hello, we started planning our new kitchen about three months ago. After we had a rough idea of what we wanted, we were advised to use the measuring service from Ikea. We did that. Then we had another appointment at the furniture store for the final planning and ordering of the kitchen, which was a bit tricky but succeeded thanks to good advice. Since it is going to be a U-shaped kitchen unit, we were advised to assemble the kitchen first and then have the countertop measured by the Ikea professional. That’s what we did, even though it was already clear that due to the 4-week delivery time for the countertop, we would not finish the kitchen in time before our move. But that’s not so bad. So after the delivery, we assembled all the cabinets and gave the green light for the measuring. Once the measurements were available at the furniture store, I went there again by appointment, had to wait quite a while for the “countertop professional,” but whatever. He then worked on the computer using the planning documents and measurements to order the countertop. I signed the order. About three weeks after our move, the countertops were delivered. When we tried to assemble them, we noticed: It doesn’t fit! First problem: The part of the U that extends into the room, the cabinets protrude instead of the countertop sticking out 2 cm as planned — this part of the countertop is too narrow, and the rear part of the countertop is a bit too long. Second problem: The division of the countertop runs exactly under the sink. Due to the (carefully measured) water connections, the sink only fits in this corner. But that doesn’t fit now, because the attachment points planned for screwing the countertop sections together are exactly where the sink should be. In any case, we were at the furniture store a week ago and complained; everything was recorded, and we were promised that someone would get back to us promptly. I followed up again last Tuesday, and at that time the complaint was not yet “entered into the system, but we will do that today.” The promised callback still did not come. I’m slightly annoyed. The countertop will probably have to be at least partially remade, which will take another 4 weeks... Any experience with complaints like these? How long do I have to subscribe to the pizza delivery?
