Do you have small children? They can't see outside at 130 for a long time. And you also have much less view, none at all when sitting.

Regarding brightness: The higher the parapet, the further from the window even direct light comes in with the sun high. Think about the angles.

The bedroom gets a huge skylight above the bed, which opens like a convertible roof as a highlight – sleeping outdoors at pleasant temperatures is great! The study gets a strip of light from above, e.g., above the desk area – this creates a particularly pleasant working light as long as it is bright outside. Due to the parapet of the flat roof, the roof surfaces are not visible from the outside as a feature. Nice but somewhat energy-intensive is an access to the roof, e.g., from the hallway, so that you can occasionally clean the skylight. The window area is then of course not available for the roof.[Photovoltaic].

A slit never lets in as much light as a surface/"hole".

No children present, but if there are any in the future, we do have a window in the children's room with a 90 cm parapet height. The view doesn't bother us because we have large windows on the ground floor for that. Well, I think with a 130 cm parapet height and 90 cm window height, enough indirect light comes in anyway.

So I believe that the windows in the roof will probably become significantly more expensive and the thing is already with the structural engineer who is just waiting to calculate... I mean we don't have much time left to make changes.

But maybe someone has an idea on how to become more fair outside and inside?
