Which mid-range furniture brands are there?

For sofas/sectional sofas, quality is very important because you sit on them for long periods every day

Which brands of sectional sofas can you recommend or where should we look, and what should a sectional sofa have, what should one pay attention to (so that you enjoy the sectional sofa for a long time and it doesn’t get worn out quickly)

… that you can still move around it well despite having a table in the middle. I advise against a U shape, better an L plus an ottoman. You have more options for arranging.

That's how different it is... with us, the sofa is only "occupied" for 2 hours in the evening. The dining table is the main actor.

We have a large U-sofa, but we also experienced that this shape offers no space for guests at all... two seats in the middle and one each on the ottomans... the latter also without backrests...

...we still find it great because it is our family sofa and perfect for these purposes

My sister runs a furniture store. Although we talk constantly, unfortunately I don’t know enough to spill any secrets here. Maybe this much:

Brands are all well and good, but especially in the furniture business, advice is, in my opinion, worth its weight in gold. First of all, just about every furniture store has its own brands, which often shine with solid quality and modern design. You don’t find these with the brand manufacturers.
On top of that, some manufacturers really have a tough time, and insolvencies or closures spread suddenly. This means that even renowned manufacturers have to cut back, which can definitely affect the quality. The salespeople know this (at least with us) very well and also say so. If the piece also has to fit and the color has to harmonize with the floor, the layman is completely at a loss.

About Ikea – unfortunately I only have bad experiences, which of course may be because I am very spoiled. In the end, though, quality also comes at a price there. My sister recently said she was surprised how expensive individual parts were once they became comparable in quality. And I don’t even want to start on the assembly service. The real question then is, how important is such a piece of furniture to you? Is something cheap and Pax enough or not?

If I had to furnish myself completely new, I would first set a style and colors that I like. Then I would look for the suitable furniture or have it looked for and see what the budget allows. For example, I have a white staircase with core beech steps. By chance, a manufacturer had a coat rack also in core beech with white accents that I really liked. When I saw it, the price hardly mattered to me. I saved for so long until I had exactly that coat rack. :cool:
