This is indeed a concrete and understandable advantage for many.

We bought our kitchen in a furniture store. The advice was absolutely suitable for us. Since I have already worked as a sales trainer and kitchen sales is anything but unfamiliar to me, a different situation arose than the "bazaar." The seller and I happily adopted the "open visor," and I think both were satisfied with the deal and there was no "loser." The shopping atmosphere was great for us—and with that, I explicitly include my wife, who is generally and in many situations critical of salespeople. The price is long forgotten; I may have mentioned it here years ago. What remains is the joy of the kitchen including the positive memory of the day when we spent so much money on it at the furniture store.

For years, we have chosen all suppliers of items we live with not only based on what we buy but also from whom and in what mood.

There are as many success stories about IKEA kitchens as there are eye rolls when it comes to materials and assembly. Those who value straightforward design, predictability, and a fair price will find that the IKEA system covers the common requirements. The construction is modular and understandable, but somewhat compromised in some details: the cabinet bodies are mass-market but optimized for material efficiency. Parts that undergo heavier use over the years will show signs of wear: chipped edges, swollen edges when exposed to moisture, hinges that eventually develop some play in their particleboard walls. No surprise with daily use.

Every centimeter counts during assembly: precision in measuring and a steady hand for cutting external materials—especially when integrating a non-IKEA countertop and third-party appliances into the system—saves a lot of frustration later on. The actual assembly of the cabinets can be done without specialized knowledge, but the final steps, keywords appliance fronts and filler pieces, require time and sequential thinking. Online and on-site planning tools do solid work, but the execution always depends somewhat on individual oversight.

Those who approach details like appliance integration, countertop depth, or other wishes with a flexible mindset will solve most of the tasks, even if not always seamlessly on the first try. Spare parts, accessories, and additional cabinets are available for purchase long after, as long as the system is still in use—beyond that, creativity is needed. Functionality and appearance are satisfactory, provided one accepts the inevitable signs of wear and the peculiarities of a mass-produced concept.
