Yes, you can also make recommendations for cars based on the requirements, for example, if you need a lot of space, buy a station wagon, etc.

At the moment, I am leaning more towards affordable parquet.

That’s why my question was what to pay attention to and what veneer and engineered parquet are, I found parquet with click system for 30-40€/m².
I wanted to clarify now whether affordable parquet is even recommended or if one should rather take good laminate or vinyl.

Unfortunately, I don’t know much about it, the more I read about it, the more confused I get :D

My requirements.
The floor should be suitable for underfloor heating,
feel comfortable (barefoot and in socks)
be suitable for dogs
be suitable for a children’s room (a child is probably coming in a few years)
be installable as a floating floor

If you say parquet or vinyl should always be glued down, then those would be out already

You can also make manufacturer recommendations from your experience or research or experience of acquaintances of yours

That's a pity. Vinyl and gluing are actually a much better combination when it comes to underfloor heating than all the click variants. The material that is glued down is simply much thinner and therefore much more efficient in terms of room heating.

We originally planned to use vinyl, but then switched to parquet because my girlfriend didn’t want any more plastic once it became concrete. I am in favor of underfloor heating for bonding, but of course that is only moderately suitable for DIY work. It’s not only that the material can be thinner, but also that there is no air layer between the floor and the covering.

I had cork in my room as a child. It is durable and also relatively comfortable to walk on, but not particularly attractive, and all types of cork look very similar. We also wanted to avoid having too many different coverings in the house if possible, otherwise it ends up looking patchy. We then decided on a rustic oiled parquet, as any marks are not so noticeable and can be repaired by ourselves. That is a bit over the €35 budget (which we originally aimed for…). But even for vinyl we probably would not have stayed within the budget, although much closer.

Unfortunately, I would not trust myself to glue it down, so we are doing a floating installation.

Yes, we also don’t find cork visually appealing and want to lay the same floor everywhere on the upper and attic floors to keep it uniform.

While searching for parquet, I found Parador engineered parquet for 25-40 €/m² depending on the color.

What can you say about engineered parquet?

Surface lacquer-sealed matte

Having it glued doesn’t cost a fortune – not to mention that it also saves a lot of your own time, which you can use for other things. Here are our prices from 2018:

how many hours did he need for that?

We actually want to do that ourselves because we don't have much left

We prefer to have the painter do as much as possible and save on the floor with our own work
