Which building regulations make new constructions so expensive?

If you put your house next to a big undeveloped plot of land for which no usage has been planned yet, that can happen. Completely normal.
Just like a house on the outskirts of town with a view of the forest can eventually end up in the second row.

Maybe I'll be affected someday too: diagonally across from my house there is a large horse pasture. I don’t think I’ll sacrifice my lifetime to fight against development. I just live in the middle of a big city. That’s just how it is. Life is much more relaxed when you’re not an angry citizen.

We just had the same situation. Even the "disposal" of excavation material now costs a lot of money. And more will come in that area. Our demolition contractor (who also hauled away some excavation material) is already stunned. He already has documentation requirements and paperwork like in healthcare...

Yes. You see it that way. I see it that way. But many Germans do not, otherwise all these problems would not exist.

I rather don't. These are all costs that also existed 10/20 years ago. Your warranty towards the construction company. Not the other way around ;) There are also more floods, gas accidents, surface-mounted cables... But builders nowadays don't want that: while 10 years ago people thought about whether to get shutters, possibly electric ones, it is now fashionable to philosophize about their Home-E, where there used to be shutters, now blinds are planned, a house without a kids' bathroom, i.e. a third bathroom, is becoming a social standard, etc. You can still build cheap houses nowadays, but if you of course want to grab KfW money or have the best autonomous heating, it gets expensive.

But it would be the responsibility of politics not to give others any opportunity at all. Example: years ago, a (small) part of the Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin was supposed to be built on. What happened? The residents were asked. It was clear that they were against it. And urgently needed apartments were not built. I also don’t want Chinese conditions, but that it feels like everyone can oppose everything and be asked about everything is not ideal either, it prevents and drives up costs a lot. A middle way would be sensible. For example, with adjusted development (single-family house next to single-family house, apartments on an airfield, wind turbine at an appropriate distance, etc.) no one should be allowed to sue anymore.

Haha the path here actually shows quite well why everything keeps getting more expensive...

The German "Michel," a chronic worrier throughout his life, makes sure he has to pay more and more :D

There are questions about whether the physicist or rocket engineer should be allowed to wire their own house or whether the trained butcher should lower a curb, or it is justified that the drinking water connection is installed by the supplier because it has always been that way :) best of all combined with DIN and standards and state of the art statements explaining why a subsub has to do the work that was purchased from the main contractor

And heaven forbid anyone comes up with the idea at the end to maybe build the 50cm high natural stone wall without a structural engineer and foundation, preferably also bringing in an external expert

All good, I know that's how WE are... but that's why we also have to pay a lot more
Best friend of my uncle in Texas had to do the following for his house construction: proof that the septic tank is sealed after completion

The rest... his business

Is that right? In my eyes no but does it go fast and make everything cheaper? But definitely
