What type of television connection are you planning in the new single-family house?

For LAN and Sat, do not forget that the cables must be replaceable in empty conduits.

A recurring topic, where I always like to give my two cents: - As much good network as possible everywhere - An additional SAT connection in the living room if needed Who knows what the future will bring, but having a Sat connection in every children's room seems outdated to me. Current network cables support 10 or even 40Gbit/s. That will be enough for a long time.

Just throwing it out there...
We have been using Telekom IPTV for years, are very satisfied, and don't want anything else.
The thing is, currently no one can answer what performance the new internet connection at our new building will have. The surrounding area is fully developed, sometimes even with 250mbit. But we also have future neighbors with 50mbit. According to Telekom's current statement, anything can happen from 250 to 16mbit at our place.
Cable and fiber would both have cost around €20k, so now we have to hope that the connection will be fast enough.
We don't really want satellite, but will probably at least have it installed to be prepared just in case.
I just want to say that for family-wide IPTV, the connection must be adequate. 50mbit can quickly become tight there. We experienced that ourselves before Telekom upgraded the connections on this street.
So for new buildings, the possible speed must be considered if you want to rely on IPTV.

We hope it will work out.
And as far as football is concerned, yes, there is the offset. My solution is quite simple: close the window

We received a substantial discount on our Telekom home connection when taking over the TV tariff and accepted it. However, television still comes via SAT, as we, being a multinational family, also like to target British channels.

I have to ask again. Discount on fiber optic? If yes, what was the offer like and what amount of discount are we talking about?

Fiber optics here in the countryside - that will still take generations! We are glad to have gotten a Vectoring line with 100Mbit/s download. There was a discount for booking the package. Telekom took 15 months to lay the line to the house, manholes had to be dug in the streets, joints opened, double cores switched. It was quite a drama.
