But after spending 1.5 Sundays roaming around the model house park—which was originally intended more for ideas regarding the interior, architecture, etc.—we see absolutely no reason to build a prefab house instead of a solid house. You are probably right. I always try to avoid presenting something as definitively true because I learn something new every day and some things later turn out to be wrong.
My impression so far of solid house vs. prefab house overall for both: very dependent on the materials used and the quality of the construction company. If we assume high-quality materials and good construction companies in each case, then the following points apply:

[*]Costs: Quite similar.
[*]Indoor climate: Also comparable since both are airtight. Here, a ventilation system has more influence.
[*]Construction time: Slight advantage for prefab house but not much. The biggest advantage of prefab houses is probably weather independence, especially if a large part of the construction takes place in winter.
[*]Stability/quality: Comparable.
[*]Sound insulation: According to the previous answers here and googling "sound insulation in prefab houses" (good tip!) it looks like there won't be much change here either.

That means that a prefab house built with drywall construction ala Bien-Zenker and a solid house "brick by brick" hardly differ in quality and living comfort (including sound insulation) in the end, if you get a good construction company with good craftsmen and a good site manager, who use good materials and ideally also have a good expert who finds any defects that arise (which there always will be).
