Hello, I want to dig up the thread from the past because the material mix also interests me. For the exterior wall, I am offered aerated concrete, Ytong. According to the offers, the interior walls are to be made of sand-lime brick. Is this mix bad? What wall thickness is recommended for the interior walls? For load-bearing walls, 17.5 cm and for non-load-bearing, 11.5 cm sand-lime brick are offered. Is the sound insulation sufficient at the specified wall thicknesses?
Hello,
We are also currently occupied with this topic.
Take a look at the Ytong website, there you can download the Ytong building manual. Chapter 5.5 deals with sound insulation and I found it very insightful.
By the way, the local Ytong prefab house partner at our location advised us against using SLB for interior walls. Reason: The climatizing properties of aerated concrete would be much better than SLB and thus increase the feel-good factor in the living spaces. Allegedly, similar sound insulation results could also be achieved with aerated concrete as with SLB. "It is also used in hospitals, etc." All that may be true, but with the same wall thickness, the story certainly does not add up for sound insulation. Maybe with double the wall thickness...
