For me as well! Nowadays, a well does not replace a water pipe.

I ask again: Why?

Because water from the tap (like electricity from the socket) is reliably, spontaneously, easily and in high quality directly available. And because during new construction the effort is manageable (retrofitting, on the other hand, may be associated with considerable pain). The outdoor water tap is a piece of infrastructure that simply belongs to a house for me (like the outdoor socket for electricity).

Of course, the outdoor water tap is objectively just as superfluous as the concept of a single-family home itself. And of course everyone is allowed to build their house without an outdoor water tap here ...

Because retrofitting – just like with electrical wiring – is always more complicated than installing it initially. A water pipe is relatively inexpensive. The water lobby is probably weaker; with LAN sockets and empty conduits, no one asks.

Why retrofit when you have a well...? I don't understand the connection - with a well I can distribute 20 tapping points in the garden/house, with the outdoor water tap in the house's water infrastructure I am quite rigidly fixed, moreover the risk of dead branch lines remains if not used for a long time.

A well is simply not the same as drinking water from the tap. Of course, you are free to see it differently. One additional point might be that for many builders during the construction phase, it is probably easier to arrange for an outdoor faucet than to have already examined all the details of a possible well at that time. And, as I already wrote, the presence of an outdoor faucet does not prevent drilling a well and/or collecting and using rainwater.
