The yellow bag contains a lot more than just plastic packaging depending on the district: tin cans, wooden boxes, shampoo bottles, Styrofoam packaging, etc.

So? If it suddenly gets too much for the little bin, I just take it out right away. I just don’t stuff a washing machine shipping box into the 8-liter container. As I said, there wasn’t really any more space anyway, and I don’t want to have trash standing anywhere in the utility room or pantry (except maybe for waste glass). And when the bag is full, I just take it with me on the way to the garage. Easy.

In the new building, we will get cabinets with widths of around 100 cm or more, so it will look different and I would maybe use larger units there. Currently, that’s just how it is, can’t be changed, and it works perfectly fine for two people.

Do you also have fixed bins underneath? Are your bins hung in or do they just stand in the drawer? Currently, in the apartment under the sink, we have two 17L bins hanging on the door. But the door always gets dirty, and you simply can’t really clean the cabinet properly because the door and the frame are in the way. At the moment, we only have residual waste in there. We are planning to have an upper drawer next to the sink in the house as well, but with only 1-2 bins. For residual waste. For bio waste, we have to see whether it will continue to go into residual waste like currently in the apartment, or if we will get a bio bin or a composter. We have the yellow sack in a standalone bin with a foot-operated lid. The whole yellow sack fits in it, and in stainless steel black look, it matches our appliances like the kettle and toaster. So it looks “stylish.” When it’s full, it goes to the carport room until collection. Currently, in the utility room and in the future in the pantry, there is a tower made of three crates for deposits, waste paper, and glass...

What experiences do you have with it? We're also considering installing a push-to-open, but does it open wide enough then, or do you still need a dirty hand to open it? (Kitchen comes with handles)
We do not want to invest in electric options like foot sensors or similar, they just break, are expensive, can trigger false alarms, and are simply not easy to implement with a drawer on top.

Do you mean in the drawer underneath for waste glass and waste paper? No, paper goes into a cardboard box that stands in the drawer, waste glass just stands next to it.

The buckets above are hooked in.

So until a whole yellow bag (120l?) would be full with me, it would start to stink quite a bit. I have to go out more often.
