Do you mean proper orbital sanders or those small multi-sanders? (Sorry, I’m not very familiar with that) Or what do you think of the handy wall and floor sanders, or a handy wall and ceiling sander? With drywall sanders, I’ve also seen that there are triangular sanding attachments? Those are meant for the corners, right? I initially also thought that the big drywall sanders would be easier since you can always sand a larger area evenly at once, but what Tolentino says also sounds logical to me — smaller devices are easier to control. Otherwise, a completely manual hand sander could also be an option.

Proper ones. A multi-sander would be the other extreme.

Could work. But you can't really use it for much else.

Yes.

As I said, great in theory, but not for someone who has never done it before in practice.

Too exhausting. Only for next to windows or something.

I wanted to address that: You have the same problem with full-surface filling as well. And getting it properly filled is much harder than wallpapering. Then it also takes much longer because of the drying times. You have even more dust development because you don't just sand 1-2 times but 3-4 times. The only thing I would agree to is to say that wallpapering is best done by two people, whereas filling and sanding, if you know how to do it, also works well alone.

an exhaust hood with venting also blows all the heat out. A decentralized fan with heat recovery, on the other hand, improves the energy balance because it retains 80-90% of the heat inside, whereas with a window, 100% of the warm air is lost.

It's always a question of how skilled you are and how quickly you learn. If I have to fillet 100 fish, it can be worth practicing slowly with the professional knife on 5 fish first and then quickly finishing the remaining 95 fish... instead of painstakingly working on 100 fish at a snail's pace with a mini knife that isn't meant for that... I mean honestly, there are plenty of practice areas. Where there are cabinets or shelves anyway, for example. If it ends up looking bad, okay. But if it looks okay, you've saved a lot of time. And honestly... 100m²? You can finish that with an orbital sander anyway, or you can't even manage that much in a day with it.

As an amateur, you will never get painter’s fleece perfectly done. Especially not if you have to cut somewhere or go around corners, preferably even outside corners.

And precisely the painter’s fleece, which ultimately creates a Q4 surface, forgives nothing at all? You see every little mistake all the more.
