Have Q2 smoothly plastered onto Q3 or use painter's fleece

Why? Buy the color in the store and then design the wall however you like. That way you’re much more flexible. Alternatively, you can stick the wallpaper onto the painter’s fleece. That way you can always remove it perfectly again.

But also solid colors. Or you need talent. There are so many textured wallpapers / style wallpapers, are they simply terribly outdated in new buildings, or is there some structural / technical reason why no one considers them? When I look around online, I sometimes get the feeling "the smoother my wall, the more of a person I am." I have also grown tired of a coarse textured paint, but there must be nuances between that and baby-bottom smooth?

Yep. They were trendy many years ago. Just like bahama beige was once a "must-have" for sanitary objects.
Today, in owner-occupied homes, it’s more about wall stickers or sometimes a wall with colored wallpaper.

Tenants, on the other hand, wallpaper endlessly in many textures and colors.

Kind of strange actually...

Okay, if it’s just a trend, that reassures me a bit. Well, we also chose Bahama-Beige for the bathroom (at least for the tiles), so we can also wallpaper old-fashioned textured wallpapers.

Yes, in between I also had that impression. We will have it plastered in two layers. Top plaster 1mm or 0.8mm. Done. Our plasterer and architect showed us this at a recently completed project. It looks great. And that in an ultra-modern house. This thing about ultra-smooth walls is not my thing. We have both in our current apartment. After 10 years, the painter's fleece wall looks noticeably more battered.

I take the liberty of reviving the thread once again. We are currently dealing with the question of how the walls should be designed. We are having Q3 puttied and then finishing with a lightly textured plaster. As an addition/-contingency, we were offered painter’s fleece to mask settlement cracks. We have absolutely no idea in what number and size such cracks will occur. Does anyone have example photos from their own collection to show what to expect if one forgoes painter’s fleece?
