Wallpaper or plaster? Which is better in new construction?

Ok What width can you recommend for the painter's fleece? I have seen it in 3 widths 53cm 75cm 100cm Are there any differences? With 1m you have to start less often and you can make fewer mistakes. But I could also imagine that 1m wide is difficult to apply without wrinkles Which width would you recommend?

We had 75. That went well. Unfortunately, I have no comparison.

That doesn't have to be so expensive. At the big store, there's painter's fleece with 150g/m² for 1 €/m². You can usually skip the ceiling, so just paint directly. Buy painting tools at Action. Then you don't rinse out rollers anymore but just always take a new one.

But yes, sanding and painting directly on is definitely cheaper. But it probably doesn't look as good with amateurs.

Statically critical cracks are no longer covered by simple painter's fleece either.

For amateurs, better to use an orbital sander. It takes longer, but the result is better. You need it anyway for the corners. Drywall sanders are too unwieldy and as inexperienced you’re more likely to put dents in.

With a delta sander, it takes forever. I got a used giraffe including lots of sandpaper for 45€ via eBay. Always work from bottom to top, don’t press too hard.

I mean, actually not, but I would still recommend it. After sanding, you have so much dust on the walls that even a lot of paste might not provide consistently optimal adhesion. Applying the primer also removes some dust.
