Walk-in shower, splashing water, do I need a door?

90 is also possible if I reduce the entrance area to 70. What advantage do you see if you need a glass door for the entrance area anyway?

When I wash my hair in the shower and have both hands on my head, my elbows are about 70cm apart. You don’t have much space left with 80cm. I am small myself; for taller people, it might be even tighter. I find my shower luxurious, but not because of the length, rather because of the width: I can move however I want, and there is always enough space. 80cm sure works without problems, but it is just a tiny bit less comfortable.

I believe you misunderstood the drawing; the shower has a length of 160cm and a width of 100cm. The open wall or the right wall of the shower is 80cm long. In my opinion, the length of the right wall of 80cm is not enough; water will probably splash out of the shower area?

ooh yes, I probably didn't look closely enough. Sorry! I take it all back. 100 cm width is really nice. Nothing can go wrong with that. You could reduce the entrance to the shower to 50 or 55 cm. Then you wouldn't need a door, just a shower mat.

Regarding the 50 cm: the aisle on the train is 50 cm. That's not super comfortable but not a problem for the shower. You just have to "step through" and then you have space again. Besides, you're not wearing anything, so you’re definitely a bit narrower. :D

50cm is already very narrow, I can't imagine less than 70cm :). I personally don't find anything wrong with a door, I would only avoid it if no big compromises need to be made.

No, a door is not bad. It just has special maintenance joints and drips outward when it opens outward. But it's not ugly or anything. And it has the advantage that the heat stays in the shower when you take a warm shower (if anyone still does that nowadays. :D) Then go ahead and take a door, I would say.
