Video doorbell and surveillance camera for new construction

Believe me, that happens to you when these workers are on vacation, otherwise all locksmith services would have nothing to do because everyone would have nice neighbors!

For the (saved) price mentioned here, I can also call a locksmith for 300 EUR once. You learn sustainably from that... it probably won't happen a second time ;)

Depending on the door and locking system, the locksmith does not get them for €300;)
We have had Ekey in all family properties for years. Would never want to do without it.
However, this only has limited connection to the video doorbell as Ekey can be integrated into many systems.
Of course, in a 'house with a small budget, you don't install a Gira 106 because the money is needed for other things.
Those who value design and function and have a slightly larger budget are more likely to do so.

I don't want to discuss the sensibility at all. Seriously, buy the hottest shit, I can understand the appeal and there are definitely advantages that can only be solved conventionally with difficulty, but it would never be worth 3700 EUR to me.

I am revisiting the topic.

We are considering which video doorbell to choose. It should be mounted on the fence (to the left of the gate). The distance to the utility room is 15 meters. We want a Wi-Fi video doorbell, not a solution that costs a lot.

I am currently leaning towards:
- eufy Security Video Doorbell Dual or
- Ring Video Doorbell 4

Although the subscription with Ring is a bit off-putting to me. With eufy, I’m not sure how well it works. The posts are 1.45m high. Does anyone have experience with that?

Taking into account that the whole procedure was integrated into KNX and that these are ultimately the prices at Gira and in combination with the mailbox, it was the only solution that we liked.

Which mailbox did you specifically use for this?

Hopefully getting my Ring Video Doorbell connected next Wednesday. Also on the post but at a height of about 120cm and I have about 6m distance to the utility room.
