Just so you know. This has happened to my father several times where the chimney pulled air in. The house gets dusty, it smells a bit like smoke, and that’s it. (Of course, you have to ventilate properly!) No one collapses or anything like that. It’s hopelessly exaggerated. Either the chimney sweep has a legal basis (and can clearly label that for you) or he can forget it. Why buy an expensive DiBt chimney if it ends up being completely useless.

What is true, however, is that a pressure monitor offers real advantages compared to the DiBt approval when it comes to the chimney sweep. If you’re building new, please make it room-air independent. The chimney doesn’t care at all whether it brings in the supply air.

Nonsense, he doesn't have to show you anything - he simply has the right to demand it. He is also responsible for it...

And nice that it was like that with your father. There are said to be people who fall asleep during it and the coals continue to glow there...

That has less to do with building law. There is the SchfHWG, from §8 onward the tasks of the district chimney sweep are dealt with.

By the way, the BSFM carries out sovereign tasks – he puts his head and his license, in other words his existence, on the line if he slacks off. Slacking off naturally also includes letting something pass that he considers unsafe.

It is also not called arbitrariness, it is called discretion!

Happy Easter!

Where did you get it for 380 euros? So far, it has always been offered to me for the known 1k.

About my ventilation system distributor.

But you can also order the P4 directly from the manufacturer for almost the same price.

It's just the easiest option. By now, I would like one that has an external output to indicate an activation accordingly.

of course he has to show you the basis if he wants something from you. otherwise you simply refuse the changes and he has to report it. at the latest then it will be seen whether his claims are justified. and I consider it completely impossible that anyone in Germany has to stand for anything. please show me a court ruling where a chimney sweep had to pay even 1 lousy euro to anyone for anything. all huge scaremongering and nonsense, since he can talk his way out with the simplest tricks (he only checks the condition at exactly the time of the inspection, parameters can already have changed when he leaves...) a chimney with [dibt] approval is completely sufficient, since there is no technical condition in which the ventilation system can build up really strong pressure, except through extreme! senseless manipulation of this system (you would have to seal ALL supply air ducts in the house airtight at the same time - makes no sense and cannot happen technically on its own). and then you are actively involved and can prevent the damage. it is not as if you suddenly collapse. not without reason there are entire forums against chimney sweeps, where the chimney sweeps come with completely exaggerated demands and courts have to deal with this crap. either there is a clear law and you are out of luck or there isn't, and the chimney sweep is just talking nonsense. but as I already said, with new construction it’s better to use the pressure monitor instead of the [dibt] approval. then the chimney sweep’s hands are tied (simply because everything has been done) and you can theoretically use any chimney you want.
