We drove over to Holland to Obelink and got a large seating area with a table for about €1300. It has been on the roof terrace for 2 years now and we are satisfied. Which brand? Don’t ask me that. But I wouldn’t base my decision on that. Look at what you like and what you want to pay. Just take that and that’s it. Whether you will still be happy with it after 5 years, you will see then. Even within one brand, there are big differences.

A long time ago, we got the typical wooden garden furniture, I think made of eucalyptus. We had a covered terrace at the apartment, and for a long time, they looked very nice even without maintenance. After now being outside for 3 summers, they have suffered a lot despite care. Without a roof, I wouldn’t get them anymore.

Polyrattan looks nice at first, but in my opinion, after a while, they become real dirt catchers. Maybe there are options like [Kärcher].

With metal, you should pay attention to good craftsmanship. A friend of mine had nice rust spots on the terrace.

Hardwood garden furniture, Bangkirai or even genuine teak from the Danish bed warehouse. We have had them for years, I think more than 10. Care. Clean in the spring with net rol, then oil with owatrol d1. These are Norwegian products from shipbuilding, but also available outside the true North via Google. We also rub teak furniture inside with Owatrol, using an old T-shirt or dish towel, which is of course ruined afterward. Noble velvety appearance afterwards. The Netrol is quirky, caution, gloves.

I have had very good experience for 5 years now with Polyrattan garden chairs from Aldi. They are usually on offer again every spring. I have 2 high-back chairs and 4 armrest chairs. I got the table from another source. The furniture stays outside with me summer and winter, partly covered, but also completely outdoors. The armrests are made of wood, I believe eucalyptus. They will probably need an oil treatment this spring .. but that would be the first time. The usual chair cushions fit the chairs. I treated myself to high-quality ones from Kettler. These cushions are stored in a suitable box on the terrace ... summer and winter. With such a box, you should make sure it has an internal width of 120 cm and not the external width, otherwise it will be tight with the seat cushions. I bought the box 4 years ago from some online retailer, I think via Ebay.

I am also looking for new chairs and a nice table. Although I would prefer wood, the furniture we have had so far required too much maintenance because otherwise they quickly fade. Or are there any tips on how to avoid painting? or at least limit it to once a year?

Owatrol D 1 saturator. The wood is protected for one year. Easy to apply, extremely durable, therefore economical. Karsten
