Everything is always relative and very subjective, including the article by Ms. Johanna Bauer. We actually need one or two users who have retrofitted roller shutters and can then say whether and how much heating costs were saved.

Almost no one installs insulated roller blinds, total nonsense. Thats it!

That is not quite true. Aluminum roller shutters with PUR insulation are state of the art and are of course installed daily, though not by the cheap general contractors. However, for example, I know of a large nationwide general contractor (mainly residential construction and terraced houses) who only installs these. (In large quantities)

Foaming not only achieves better insulation values but also higher dimensional stability, which then makes larger areas possible.

I know someone who is currently building himself and has installed them too.

Shall we talk about the slats or the [rollokasten]? Because that is always insulated!

Insulation layer in the slats / the roller shutter itself, not the roller shutter box.
