Yes, the plaster is then maybe a millimeter thick - just try scratching that

Why? For us, it's about 20mm of plaster, similar to the walls.

How is that supposed to work? Why do people do something like that?

I’m just going to blatantly doubt that

It’s plastered just like on the walls. That’s a common procedure. Even my apartments from the 50s have plaster of this thickness on the ceiling. Maybe it’s only 15mm.

You can doubt it, but that’s how it really is.

Hold the hose to the ceiling, plaster goes on, smooth it out.

It is not normal with precast concrete parts - for one: Why? Why would you plaster them thickly?

And then the how - simply holding a hose to it doesn’t really work at first, because it wouldn’t stick to the concrete at all. Have you seen it yourself? Have you ever done it?

It’s already a pain with concrete walls.

It is definitely not common; instead, it is simply thinly spatulated, because that results in a TOP ceiling.

Well, seen it myself with our cast ceiling, with our concrete interior walls and with our previous house (which had precast ceilings). It didn’t look like a struggle. The concrete just needs a suitable primer (it was quite "sandy"), splattering didn’t do much.

Then seen in five condominiums (built between the 50s and 70s) – not how it was done, but the result.
Additionally with various neighbors.

I find it quite common here with us.

That’s why also the approach (unprofessional) with the screwdriver .
