You can get through with the bike, but a 2-seater bike trailer might not make it under certain circumstances ;)

…. but weeds …. :) : so "open" is not really an option. But I can understand your husband, without a garage would also be bad. Can't the garage be moved further to the right and the additional parking space placed in front of the guest bathroom window? That would save maneuvering if one stands in front of the garage. Or attach the garage to the house, then it’s just part of the house and you can go around it … My garage is (because it’s placed diagonally) much too close to the side entrance, which I already find quite cramped at the narrowest point …

And if now the trend towards cargo bikes for shopping, picking up children from kindergarten, etc. comes along … well, good night. :)

I find cargo bikes a bit one-sided, but trailers are practical (as is the case with cars, by the way). You have a normal bike with which you can also ride normally, but if needed, you can attach a child to the back. The time to attach is almost negligible once the trailer is set up. We mainly bought the trailer for after the move. Especially since we are moving to the countryside and will have about 3 km to the kindergarten, with a relatively direct connection via a 1.5-lane road through the forest. You’re not much faster by car there, and a bit of exercise doesn’t hurt if you otherwise sit in the home office.

But the bike is a good point. If I read the plan correctly, it suggests that the bike space is only accessible if the rear parking spot is free. In the worst case, both cars have to move to get to a bike. Entering from the side is also rather stressful at 80 cm; I currently have a similarly cramped situation with the bike in our basement compartment.

Guys, this is only about the terraces!
But you're right, you should first deal with the floor plan. ;)

I think you’re overestimating Pinkipong a bit :D. She probably doesn’t ride a cargo bike including shopping and kids. No offense, ;)
