Terminate house contract before expiry - withdrawal clause/property

We hoped to get a plot through this, therefore we signed. We also raised the concerns, then it was argued that no proposals would come as long as nothing was signed. In the past this went wrong because the proposed plots were suddenly sold to others. A specific example was even mentioned.

So far, nothing has been offered, we do get calls from time to time asking if anything has changed, but no offer has come yet. Nothing about an extension is stated in the contract.

Termination and withdrawal are two different things.

You mean withdrawal here. A possible legal consequence is damages, § 346 I, IV Building Code.

In addition, any contract for work can be terminated at any time – but you must pay for work performed up to that point (planning & co. are also work...), property. A flat rate of at least 5% of the remuneration, § 649 Building Code.

This approach is highly unprofessional and completely disqualifies Allkauf Haus. It's shocking what black sheep there are..*shakes head*

When did you build?
We had this option to attract or retain potential builders with every provider.
Maybe it also depends on the region. Just have a look for fun at plots of land on major exchanges, around Cologne. About half of the results are some kind of house building companies.

We also considered it at first, sounded lucrative after our unsuccessful own search. But these are the typical sales clichés, we can do everything and we do everything.
