To give a positive example... for us, everything went smoothly overall and we already had VDSL in the house on moving day. The completion notification from the subcontractor to Telekom would have taken longer (over 1 month, because the responsible employee was on vacation, tzzzzz), if I hadn’t called Telekom and played the sympathy card. Telekom itself then called the subcontractor (who had installed our APL) and obtained the completion notification. After 3 days Telekom called me and said they now had everything. I had already given the tariff (Magenta Zuhause M) and my move-in date to Telekom about 1 month in advance. Regularly calling and asking about the status also helps. The technician came as agreed and even called beforehand!

Does anyone have experience with the alternative, no landline, but everything on air? Vodafone offers that, landline and internet via radio and LTE for home. Our house is 100 m as the crow flies from their radio mast. Coverage therefore great, 4G on the display. But, does it work as a landline and DSL replacement? Has anyone done that?

Yes, it works, BUT:

These contracts usually have relatively low included volumes. For email, browsing (phone calls go via mobile anyway and not through the data network) and two YouTube videos, it works. But if you stream Netflix every evening and also download games on the side, you will quickly reach the limit. It is not suitable for that.

So check the volume limits beforehand. The speed should be fast enough for most applications if the coverage is good.

I see no necessity for this if a wired solution is available. If nothing works over that, I would take a look at the product from Telekom with LTE Boost (Magenta hybrid) – the LTE option included there is unlimited in volume.

Thank you, we can leave this side issue as far as I'm concerned. I was at the Vodafonestore. The salesperson quietly advised against it. 4G is available. But there is the data limit. And even more importantly: the Vf network here in town struggles a lot under the summer tourist rush, it sometimes collapses. And then you would be sitting in the house at the end of July with nothing at all. Relief only after the autumn holidays. He says saving is good, but not really here. Okay, fair advice. so on to the Magenta builder service.
