As an outsider, I have a question for the “washing machine + dryer upstairs owners“:
How do you handle drying laundry in the summer? Do you also put it in the dryer instead of on the clothesline in the garden?
And what about noise disturbance in the bedrooms? (For example, when the kids are already asleep in the evening, but you still have to dry or wash laundry for the next day) Isn't it more sensible not to have the appliances next door?
Do you do the ironing and folding of clothes upstairs then, in the bedroom or where?
So far, I mostly know that the dry laundry is partly ironed and folded in the living area.. Otherwise, for example, the kids play in the living room and the mom is alone upstairs working on laundry?
Or what are your experiences?
I hate the view of clotheslines, even when not stretched out, and I don't want to impose that on my neighbors either.
In summer, a load of laundry usually ends up on a portable drying rack that often changes position. For example, I have had bad experiences with balanced laundry.
The appliances stand next to each other in the small utility room, about 3 sqm, upstairs; you can hear the washing machine during spinning, the dryer hardly at all.
Yes, ironing and folding is done in the bedroom, where there is also a TV for distraction.
We have no children, but if we did, they could be watched while ironing in their bedrooms upstairs - the living room doesn't have to be cluttered with work.
