I really like stone walls in living spaces just like in these stone wall pictures:

Does anyone have experience with this?
Do you use ordinary stones (clinker brick slips)? Or is there something special?
How can something like this be kept clean (e.g. also possible in the kitchen as a backsplash behind the stove)?
I would also be interested in the costs for such stone walls...
Thanks in advance!

The stone walls are not recommended as a splash guard in the kitchen because cleaning is quite laborious.

We have - visible in my avatar. There are special straps for indoor use in natural stone or plaster with the appearance of natural stone or brick, available in larger hardware store branches.

I had tiles with this look as wall cladding behind the countertop in my old rental apartment. They are still available under "Wandverkleidung Aitana" at Bauhaus. At the time, I first covered the wall with chipboard and then glued the tiles onto it. It had to be easily removable when moving out. The whole thing was indirectly illuminated from above. It looked quite good. Cleaning behind the stove was relatively unproblematic and possible with a brush.

Looks great. I also want such cladding in the living room (I think they are called natural stone wall cladding). I'm just not sure about mold formation. Does anyone have experience or more knowledge on that? I also want to put a wall unit next to it. In that context, one or two cabinets will probably be hung on the wall? Is that problematic? Or what should be considered?
